Can you sleep on a heated bed after cataract surgery?
Disease description:
I had cataract surgery a few days ago and am now preparing to go home for rest and recovery. My home has a heated brick bed (kang). Is it okay to sleep on a heated kang after cataract surgery?
Patients can sleep on a heated bed after cataract surgery, but the temperature should not be too high. It is recommended not to rub the eyes after surgery and to avoid getting water in the eyes for one week. If there is eye discharge, gently wipe it with a cotton swab. Regular follow-up examinations should be conducted as scheduled. Regarding diet, it is advisable to eat light meals and avoid grilled, greasy, and spicy foods. Strenuous exercise should be avoided after surgery to prevent unnecessary injuries or wound dehiscence at the cataract incision site.
