How to treat formaldehyde poisoning
Disease description:
My close friend recently renovated this shop. When entering the store, there is a very strong odor. The smell is irritating, causing eye pain and easy tearing. I'm worried it might be formaldehyde poisoning. How is formaldehyde poisoning treated?
Formaldehyde poisoning can generally be treated with medications and other methods. In cases of mild poisoning, it is recommended to leave the formaldehyde-containing environment and receive oxygen therapy, along with oral administration of medications such as watermelon frost. If there are symptoms like irritative cough or wheezing, antitussive and anti-asthmatic drugs may be taken. For conditions such as laryngeal edema or pulmonary edema, corticosteroids should be administered to reduce local inflammatory swelling, and antihistamines may also be taken orally.
