Knee synovitis refers to inflammation of the synovial tissue within the knee joint. Common symptoms include joint swelling, pain, and limited mobility. Treatment methods include: 1. Rest and ice application: In the early stage, reduce knee joint activity to avoid worsening inflammation. Apply an ice pack for 15–20 minutes, 3–4 times daily, to help reduce swelling. 2. Physical therapy: Includes heat therapy, massage, physical rehabilitation, and gentle joint exercises to improve joint mobility and relieve pain. 3. Medication: Use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen or celecoxib, to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. For moderate to severe synovitis secondary to knee osteoarthritis, immunosuppressants or biologic response modifiers may be used. 4. Surgical treatment: Surgery may be required for refractory synovitis or cases associated with structural damage. 5. Daily care: Maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding repetitive or high-intensity activities that strain the knee joint, and wearing appropriate footwear all have positive effects on preventing and managing synovitis. If pain persists or symptoms worsen, prompt medical evaluation is necessary to prevent delayed treatment.
