Fuzi Lizhong Pill is a traditional Chinese patent medicine composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, Codonopsis pilosula, Atractylodes macrocephala, Zingiberis Rhizoma Dryum (dry ginger), and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (licorice). Among these, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata warms yang and dispels cold; dry ginger strengthens the middle-jiao yang; Atractylodes macrocephala fortifies the spleen and dries dampness; Codonopsis enhances qi and benefits the spleen; and licorice tonifies the center, supports healthy qi, and harmonizes all the herbs. The primary therapeutic effects include regulating qi movement, eliminating dampness and relieving pain, invigorating qi and strengthening the spleen, regulating the middle-jiao and harmonizing the stomach, and treating deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach. Fuzi Lizhong Pill is indicated for various symptoms such as gastrointestinal cold pain, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort, cold intolerance due to stomach cold, and poor appetite. It should be noted, however, that this medicine is not suitable for everyone. Individuals who are physically weak, pregnant women, children, and patients with renal insufficiency should use it cautiously or avoid it altogether. Due to its warm and hot nature, Fuzi Lizhong Pill is contraindicated in individuals with excess-heat or yang-excess constitution. During treatment, consumption of spicy, raw, cold, greasy, or otherwise hard-to-digest foods should be avoided.
