What should I do if lochia doesn't clear up after induced abortion?
Disease description:
I've been having lochia continuously after my induced abortion, and it never seems to clear up. What should I do if lochia persists after an induced abortion?
Prolonged lochia after induced abortion may be caused by various factors, including retained tissue in the uterine cavity, uterine injury, or inflammatory infection.
For this condition, the following measures can be taken:
1. Diet and exercise: Adjust diet appropriately by consuming foods that promote blood circulation and resolve blood stasis, such as brown sugar ginger tea or hawthorn water. Engage in mild physical activities like slow walking or tai chi to enhance uterine contraction and facilitate lochia discharge.
2. Medication: If symptoms are severe, take medications such as Yimucao granules or Xinshenghua granules under medical supervision to help expel stagnant blood and promote uterine contraction.
3. Surgical treatment: If ultrasound reveals significant retained tissue in the uterine cavity, dilation and curettage (D&C) is recommended to completely remove the residual tissue and support uterine contraction and recovery.
4. Anti-infective therapy: If infection is present, anti-infective treatment with medications such as metronidazole or levofloxacin should be administered.
