Squats do not provide any significant benefits for hemorrhoids and may even worsen the condition. Squats can increase intra-abdominal pressure and promote blood reflux, leading to congestion and swelling of hemorrhoidal tissue, thereby triggering or exacerbating hemorrhoid symptoms. Particularly in patients with severe hemorrhoids or anal fissures, squats may easily cause pain, bleeding, or even complications such as prolapse or incarceration of hemorrhoids. The increased pressure within the anal canal during squats may further aggravate hemorrhoids. Therefore, individuals with hemorrhoids should avoid frequent high-intensity lower-limb weight-bearing exercises like squats. Since squats offer no clear advantages for hemorrhoid management, patients should carefully choose appropriate forms of exercise and perform them only under medical guidance.
