What are the symptoms of orchitis and epididymitis?
Disease description:
The testicular area frequently experiences pain and swelling; I'm not sure whether it's caused by orchitis or epididymitis. What are the symptoms of orchitis and epididymitis?
Orchitis and epididymitis are common male reproductive system diseases. Although their symptoms are similar in some respects, there are also differences. The main symptoms include:
1. Scrotal changes: Orchitis may cause dryness, redness, and swelling of the scrotal skin, while epididymitis may present with sudden pain in the scrotal area.
2. Testicular abnormalities: Patients with orchitis often experience testicular swelling and pain, and a fluctuant sensation suggestive of pus accumulation may be felt upon palpation. Epididymitis is characterized by swelling and tenderness of the epididymis; particularly in acute cases, pain may radiate to the ipsilateral groin and lower abdomen.
3. Systemic symptoms: Both conditions may cause systemic symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fever, and chills.
4. Urethral symptoms: Orchitis may be accompanied by urethral pain, urinary frequency, and urgency.
