Although fish glue (fish maw) is rich in collagen protein, various vitamins, and minerals, and possesses high nutritional value, it should be consumed cautiously in children with diarrhea. This is because children suffering from diarrhea often experience intestinal dysfunction, making it difficult for them to digest and absorb the high levels of protein and fat present in fish glue. Consumption may increase the gastrointestinal burden and worsen diarrhea symptoms. Particularly for fish glue that is rich in protein, it may exacerbate putrefactive processes in the intestines of children with diarrhea, further aggravating the condition. Therefore, during episodes of childhood diarrhea, parents are advised to avoid giving fish glue to the child to ensure adequate rest and recovery.
