Drug therapy: This is the primary approach for treating systemic lupus erythematosus, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as voltaren, celecoxib), antimalarial drugs (such as chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine), glucocorticoids (such as prednisone), and immunosuppressants (such as cyclophosphamide, azathioprine, cyclosporine, methotrexate).
