Patients with high uric acid levels can eat peanuts, but should control the amount consumed and determine whether it is suitable for consumption based on their individual condition and medical advice. 1. Peanuts naturally contain a moderate amount of purines, with approximately 96 milligrams of purine per 100 grams. For patients with high uric acid levels, moderate consumption of peanuts is acceptable, but they should be cautious about controlling the intake to avoid excessive purine consumption, which may elevate uric acid levels. 2. Peanuts also have a relatively high fat content, particularly a high level of unsaturated fatty acids. For patients with hyperuricemia combined with hyperlipidemia, excessive peanut consumption may worsen lipid abnormalities; therefore, such patients should try to avoid or consume only small amounts of peanuts. 3. Patients experiencing a gout flare should also avoid eating peanuts, as the purine content in peanuts may trigger or exacerbate gout symptoms.
