Patients with high uric acid levels are advised not to eat squid, as it may easily cause further elevation of uric acid.

Squid is a high-purine food, containing up to 230 milligrams of purines per 100 grams. For individuals with elevated uric acid levels, excessive intake of purines may worsen symptoms and trigger diseases such as gout. Consuming squid may also lead to persistently increased uric acid levels, raising the risk of uric acid crystal deposition in the joints, thereby exacerbating the condition. Therefore, patients with high uric acid levels are advised not to consume squid.

It is recommended that patients with high uric acid levels reduce or avoid intake of high-purine foods such as organ meats, seafood, and meats in their daily diet. Instead, they should increase consumption of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, maintain healthy lifestyle habits, regularly monitor uric acid levels, and, when necessary, follow medical guidance for pharmacological treatment.
