Can cervical nabothian cysts disappear on their own?
Disease description:
I was diagnosed with a cervical nabothian cyst during a physical examination a few days ago. Will this tumor disappear on its own?

Cervical nabothian cysts, also known as cervical glandular cysts, generally do not disappear on their own, but in most cases, they do not require special treatment. These cysts are a manifestation of chronic cervicitis, resulting from narrowing or blockage of the cervical gland ducts, which obstructs the drainage of glandular secretions and leads to fluid retention and cyst formation.
Although most cervical nabothian cysts are physiological, they may also be caused by chronic inflammation or injury. For asymptomatic and small cysts, regular follow-up examinations are sufficient, without the need for treatment. However, if the cyst is large or causes noticeable symptoms, such as increased vaginal discharge, purulent discharge, or presence of blood streaks, timely evaluation and treatment are necessary. In addition, regular cervical and gynecological examinations are important for preventing the progression of nabothian cysts and for the early detection of cervical inflammation.
If there are any concerns, further evaluation is recommended.
