Can Paeonol be used for mosquito bites with skin ulcers?
Disease description:
My arm developed an ulceration after being bitten by a mosquito. I would like to know if I can use Paeonol for skin ulceration caused by mosquito bites?

After mosquito bites cause skin ulcers, Paeonol Ointment can be used for relief. Paeonol Ointment is made from multiple traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients and has functions of clearing heat, cooling blood, relieving wind, and alleviating itching. It has certain therapeutic effects on symptoms such as skin redness and itching caused by insect bites. Skin ulcers may be accompanied by infection; therefore, sufficient disinfection should be performed before using Paeonol Ointment, for example, applying iodophor locally to prevent worsening of the infection.
Additionally, although Paeonol Ointment is a traditional Chinese patent medicine and non-hormonal drug, long-term use might cause skin irritation. Therefore, usage should follow medical advice, and once the condition is basically cured, a simple moisturizer can be used instead for hydration and skin care. If symptoms persist or worsen, prompt medical attention should be sought.
