How is cervicitis caused?
Disease description:
I have developed cervicitis, and I don't even know why I got this disease. I would like to ask the doctor: what causes cervicitis?

The causes of cervicitis are diverse, mainly including the following aspects:
1. Pathogen infection: Suppurative inflammation caused by pathogens such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Chlamydia trachomatis, as well as infections caused by viruses, Trichomonas vaginalis, and others, are common causes of cervicitis.
2. Mechanical irritation or injury: Cervical lacerations that may occur during childbirth or miscarriage, as well as injuries caused by intrauterine procedures such as cervical dilation or diagnostic curettage, can lead to secondary infections resulting in cervicitis.
3. Unhygienic sexual activity: Poorly hygienic sexual practices may allow bacteria or viruses to invade the cervix, causing damage to the cervical mucosa and subsequently triggering cervicitis.
4. Other factors: Excessive vaginal douching, endocrine disorders, and long-term use of antibiotics may also have adverse effects on the cervix, increasing the risk of developing cervicitis.
