Low-calorie foods
I'm quite overweight, so I want to lose weight. I need to control my diet more and eat foods that are low in calories, but I don't know what foods are low in calories.
Low-calorie foods typically refer to those with relatively low energy content per unit of weight or volume, and these foods can help control body weight and promote health. Vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, and cucumber are rich in water and dietary fiber, making them very low in calories and suitable choices for individuals aiming to lose weight or maintain a healthy diet. Among fruits, watermelon, strawberries, and grapefruit also fall into the low-calorie category due to their high water content and low sugar levels. Legumes and soy products, such as tofu and soybeans, are not only low in calories but also rich in protein and fiber, which help increase satiety. In terms of staple foods, whole grains like brown rice and oats contain more fiber than refined grains and release energy more slowly, making them valuable components of a low-calorie diet. When choosing low-calorie foods, attention should be given to their nutritional content and ability to provide satiety to achieve the goal of healthy eating.
