Self-Correction Methods for Scoliosis
Disease description:
I have a history of cervical spondylosis and currently have some degree of scoliosis. I would like to know what methods are available for self-correcting scoliosis.
Self-correction methods may offer some benefit for mild cases of scoliosis, but they are not suitable for all situations, especially moderate to severe curvature. The following are some self-correction methods that may help with mild scoliosis:
1. Proper posture: Maintain good sitting and standing posture, and avoid prolonged one-sided loading, such as carrying a bag on one shoulder.
2. Regular stretching exercises: Perform spinal stretching and strengthening exercises, such as cat stretch, downward dog, and side bending stretches, which can help strengthen back muscles and improve posture.
3. Core muscle training: Strengthening the core muscles of the abdomen and back can enhance spinal stability, through exercises such as planks and bridging exercises.
4. Wearing orthotic devices: For some patients, doctors may recommend wearing a custom orthotic device during growth periods to prevent further progression of the curvature.
If you have any concerns, it is advisable to seek medical attention promptly.
