What causes pain in the soles of the feet?
Disease description:
I have had foot pain for the past few days, and I haven't done any strenuous exercise. I would like to ask the doctor, what causes foot pain?

Heel pain can be caused by various factors, including but not limited to the following conditions:
1. Metatarsalgia: Prolonged wearing of ill-fitting shoes, especially high heels, may place pressure on the metatarsal bones, causing inflammation and pain.
2. Plantar fasciitis: This is the most common cause of heel pain, characterized by severe pain upon waking in the morning that gradually improves with activity. It is usually caused by overstretching or minor injuries to the fascia.
3. Flat feet: A lowered arch can lead to abnormal pressure distribution on the sole, resulting in pain.
4. Nerve tumors: Such as Morton's neuroma, which results from compression or inflammation of the foot nerves, often causing sharp pain between the toes.
To relieve the pain, you may try icing, rest, wearing comfortable shoes, and performing appropriate foot stretching and strengthening exercises. If the pain persists, worsens, or is accompanied by symptoms such as redness, swelling, or warmth, you should seek medical attention promptly.
