Is it necessary to remove clothing for a cardiac angiography procedure?
Disease description:
My grandfather has coronary heart disease, and the doctor recommended a cardiac angiography procedure. May I ask if it is necessary to remove clothing during the cardiac angiography procedure?

For a cardiac angiography procedure, patients need to remove clothing, but it is not required to be completely nude. During the procedure, patients need to selectively expose the corresponding skin areas depending on the blood vessel puncture site. Generally, if the angiography is performed via radial artery puncture in the hand, the patient needs to expose the skin of the upper limb and chest; therefore, removing the upper garment or rolling up the sleeves may be necessary. However, if the puncture is conducted via the femoral artery in the leg, the patient needs to expose the skin of the leg and the perineal area, which may require removing trousers or skirts.
