Patients with high uric acid levels can drink Lycium and chrysanthemum tea. This tea has multiple benefits, such as clearing heat, improving vision, and relieving dryness, and is especially suitable for people who use mobile phones or computers for extended periods. High uric acid levels are usually primarily caused by dietary factors, such as consuming excessive amounts of food high in purines. However, the purine content of Lycium (goji berries) and chrysanthemum is relatively low; the purine content of every 100 grams of Lycium or chrysanthemum typically does not exceed 150 mg, which generally will not cause patients to ingest excessive purines and is unlikely to further elevate uric acid levels. In addition, Lycium and chrysanthemum tea helps in detoxification and diuresis, increases urine output, facilitates uric acid excretion, and thus provides certain benefits for controlling the condition. Therefore, patients with high uric acid levels can consume moderate amounts of Lycium and chrysanthemum tea, but should also maintain a balanced diet and avoid excessive intake of high-purine foods.
