Patients with high uric acid levels can eat avocados, but should do so in moderation. Avocados have a low purine content, with purine levels between 0~25 mg per 100 grams, classifying them as a low-purine food, and therefore they do not significantly increase uric acid levels. Eating avocados in appropriate amounts can provide the body with abundant vitamins, minerals, and unsaturated fatty acids, which are beneficial for maintaining health. However, excessive consumption of avocados may increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract and cause discomfort. Patients who are allergic to avocados or have difficulty digesting them should avoid consumption. Additionally, dietary choices should follow the principle of a low-purine diet, avoiding excessive intake of high-purine foods such as seafood and animal offal, in order to maintain normal uric acid levels.
