What to do for heatstroke
Disease description:
In summer, the weather is hot, and it's easy to get heatstroke when it's particularly hot. I'd like to ask the doctor: what should one do to relieve heatstroke?
After suffering from heatstroke, the following measures should be taken immediately:
1. Rapid cooling: Move the patient to a cool, well-ventilated area, loosen their clothing, use a fan or air conditioning to lower the ambient temperature, and wipe their body with a wet towel to aid heat dissipation.
2. Rehydration: Encourage the patient to drink cool beverages containing salt to replenish lost fluids and electrolytes. Avoid drinks containing caffeine or alcohol.
3. Rest and observation: Have the patient lie down and rest while monitoring changes in their symptoms. If symptoms are severe, such as high fever or confusion, seek medical attention immediately.
4. Emergency treatment: If the patient experiences severe conditions such as unconsciousness or convulsions, call emergency services immediately. While waiting for help to arrive, provide basic first aid measures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
