Can I eat fatty meat if I have high uric acid levels?
Disease description:
I usually eat some fatty meat, but I also have high uric acid levels. I would like to know, is it okay for someone with high uric acid to eat fatty meat?

Patients with high uric acid levels are not advised to consume fatty meats, mainly for the following reasons:
1. **High purine content**: Fatty meats contain relatively high levels of purines, which are precursors to uric acid. Excessive intake of purines can be metabolized into uric acid in the body, leading to elevated uric acid levels and worsening symptoms of hyperuricemia or gout.
2. **Impaired metabolism**: The saturated fatty acids in fatty meats can interfere with metabolic processes in the body, increasing uric acid production and reducing its excretion, further contributing to elevated uric acid levels.
3. **Health risks**: In addition to raising uric acid levels, long-term excessive consumption of fatty meats may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and other health problems, which is detrimental to the overall health management of patients with high uric acid levels.
