Patients with high uric acid levels can consume nuts in moderation, but should pay attention to the selection and intake amount. Generally, nuts such as walnuts, Brazil nuts, and chestnuts have relatively low purine content and fall within the category of low-purine foods; moderate consumption will not significantly affect uric acid levels. These nuts are rich in fats, proteins, minerals, and vitamins, which help supply necessary nutrients to the body. However, some nuts, such as cashews and pistachios, contain higher levels of purines and should be avoided as much as possible by patients with elevated uric acid. Meanwhile, nuts are also high in fat, and excessive consumption may lead to increased fat levels in the body, which is not conducive to managing high uric acid. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with high uric acid limit their daily nut intake to within 30 grams and choose varieties with lower purine content.
