I personally really enjoy eating pig's large intestine (tripe), but I have high uric acid levels. May I ask, is it okay for someone with high uric acid to eat pig's large intestine?

Patients with high uric acid levels are generally not advised to consume pork intestines (chitterlings). This is primarily because pork intestines, as a type of animal offal, contain relatively high levels of purines. For individuals with elevated uric acid levels, consuming high-purine foods may further increase uric acid levels, thereby worsening their condition and potentially triggering serious diseases such as gout. In addition, pork intestines are rich in fat and cholesterol, and long-term or excessive consumption may negatively affect the patient's blood lipid levels and cardiovascular health. Therefore, patients with high uric acid levels should try to avoid or limit their intake of high-purine, high-fat foods like pork intestines to maintain their health. Instead of pork intestines, they should choose low-purine, low-fat foods rich in vitamins and dietary fiber, such as fresh vegetables and fruits, to promote uric acid excretion and support recovery.
