Can I eat celery if I have high uric acid levels?
Disease description:
I really enjoy eating stir-fried celery with meat, and I think celery tastes great with almost anything. However, I have high uric acid levels and would like to know whether people with high uric acid can eat celery.

Patients with high uric acid levels can safely consume celery. As a low-purine food, celery contains very little purine and does not increase the burden of uric acid. Instead, it helps promote overall health. Celery is rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and various minerals such as potassium and calcium, which play important roles in maintaining normal physiological functions in the body. At the same time, celery has a certain diuretic effect, which can help eliminate excess water from the body and thus aid in the excretion of uric acid. Therefore, patients with high uric acid levels can moderately consume celery; doing so will not worsen their condition and may actually help improve uric acid levels. Nevertheless, it remains important to maintain a balanced diet and avoid excessive intake of high-purine foods such as seafood and animal offal.
