Patients with high uric acid levels are not advised to consume duck meat, primarily because duck meat contains relatively high levels of purines. For individuals whose uric acid levels are already elevated, excessive intake of purines can increase uric acid production in the body, further raising uric acid levels and potentially triggering or worsening gout symptoms. Additionally, although duck meat is nutritionally rich in proteins, B vitamins, and unsaturated fatty acids, patients with high uric acid levels must pay special attention to dietary control and avoid consuming high-purine foods. During an acute gout attack, intake of duck meat should be strictly limited to prevent exacerbation of the condition. Patients with high uric acid levels should choose low-purine foods, such as fresh vegetables and fruits, to help maintain stable uric acid levels.
