Are sweat duct tumors flat warts?
Disease description:
Today, when looking in the mirror, I noticed several small bumps on my forehead. A friend suggested they might be flat warts, but after examination, they were diagnosed as sweat duct tumors. Are sweat duct tumors the same as flat warts?

Syringoma is not flat wart. These two skin diseases differ in several aspects.
1. Etiology: Syringoma is a benign tumor, possibly caused by genetic defects or hormonal changes, with the exact cause yet to be determined. In contrast, flat warts are viral infectious diseases caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), particularly HPV type 3.
2. Clinical manifestations: Syringoma mainly presents as hemispherical or slightly flat papules around the eyelids and eyes, with colors generally resembling normal skin or presenting as brownish-yellow; these lesions are typically asymptomatic, without itching or pain. Flat warts commonly occur on the face, upper limbs, and the back of hands, presenting as flat papules with normal skin color or light brown pigmentation. Patients may experience itching symptoms in the early or late stages.
3. Treatment: Syringoma generally does not require treatment; if it affects appearance, laser therapy or surgical removal may be used. Flat warts are mainly treated by antiviral methods and enhancing immunity; physical treatments such as cryotherapy and laser therapy can also be applied.
