What are the initial symptoms of vitiligo?
Disease description:
Recently, I have noticed white spots appearing on my neck, and I suspect it might be caused by vitiligo. What are the initial symptoms and manifestations of vitiligo?
The early symptoms of vitiligo are diverse, mainly including:
1. Skin color changes: Irregular or round white patches appear, which may have clear or slightly blurred borders. The color may gradually deepen from light white.
2. Number and size of patches: Initially, there may be only one or two small patches, but they may increase in number, enlarge, and even merge into larger areas as the condition progresses.
3. Hair changes: Hair in the affected areas may gradually turn white or become brittle and break easily.
4. Skin sensation: Some patients may experience localized itching or pain, especially after sun exposure.
5. Other symptoms: Some patients may also experience immune reaction symptoms such as erythema and edema in the early stages of vitiligo, although these symptoms do not occur in all patients.
