Symptoms of Vitiligo in the Early Stage
Disease description:
Recently, I noticed several small white spots on my husband's hands, and I suspect it might be caused by vitiligo. What are the symptoms of vitiligo in its early stages?

The initial symptoms of vitiligo mainly include:
1. Skin white patches: The most prominent symptom is the appearance of white patches on the skin. These patches can be round or irregular in shape, with clear or blurred borders. The number and size of the white patches vary among individuals, and there may be only a single small patch in the early stages.
2. Color change: The skin color in the affected areas becomes lighter, usually appearing milky white, porcelain white, or pale pink, creating a noticeable contrast with the surrounding normal skin.
3. Smooth surface: The skin surface of the white patches is smooth, without scaling or peeling, and may feel different from the surrounding skin.
4. Hair changes: If the white patches appear in areas with hair growth, the affected hair may turn white or lose its color.
5. Local symptoms: Some patients may experience fragile skin in the affected areas, which is prone to redness, itching, or tingling, especially after exposure to sunlight.
