What are the early symptoms of a urinary tract infection?
I have been experiencing frequent and urgent urination recently. Could it be a urinary tract infection (UTI)? What are the early symptoms of a urinary tract infection?
Early symptoms of urinary tract infections mainly include the following:
1. Frequent urination: Patients feel the need to urinate frequently, although the volume of urine each time is not large.
2. Urgency: A sudden, strong desire to urinate, which may be difficult to control.
3. Painful urination: A burning sensation,刺痛, or discomfort may be felt during urination, commonly occurring at the beginning of urination or throughout the entire process, sometimes radiating to the tip of the penis.
4. Abnormal urine color: The urine may become cloudy or murky, or take on an unusual color, such as dark yellow or blood-tinged.
5. Foul urine odor: Due to the presence of bacteria in the urine, it may emit an unusual or unpleasant smell.
6. Mild hematuria: The urine may contain slight traces of blood, which is caused by infection of the urethra or bladder.
7. Lower abdominal pain: Pain in the lower abdomen can also be a possible manifestation of a urinary tract infection; the pain may be dull or crampy, and may be accompanied by hematuria in severe cases.
