Patients with high uric acid levels need to pay special attention to their diet in order to avoid excessive intake of purines, as purines are metabolized into uric acid in the body. Salted duck eggs are considered low-purine foods, with a purine content of approximately 4mg per 100g, which is much lower than the threshold of 25mg purine per 100g of food. Moderate consumption of salted duck eggs is generally safe for most patients with elevated uric acid levels.

In addition to their low purine content, salted duck eggs are rich in various nutrients such as protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, and iron, which can help supplement the nutrients needed by patients with high uric acid levels and enhance immune function. However, if uric acid levels are extremely high, or if a noticeable increase in uric acid is observed after consuming duck eggs, then consumption should be limited or avoided altogether. Moreover, due to the high cholesterol content in duck egg yolks, patients with risk of cardiovascular disease should also consume them in moderation.

Patients with high uric acid levels should control the quantity when consuming duck eggs and avoid overeating to prevent additional burden on the gastrointestinal system. Additionally, patients should avoid high-purine foods such as animal offal and seafood to prevent the onset of gout and other related diseases.
