Can drinking vinegar lower blood pressure?
My blood pressure is a bit high, and I want to drink some vinegar to lower it. Can drinking vinegar help reduce blood pressure?

Drinking vinegar may have a certain auxiliary effect on lowering blood pressure, but the effect is limited.
Vinegar contains acetic acid, a substance that can theoretically promote the production of nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide helps relax blood vessels, thereby potentially lowering blood pressure. Drinking vinegar in moderation may help reduce blood pressure, but the actual effectiveness can vary among individuals. The blood pressure-lowering effect of vinegar is not significant and cannot replace standard antihypertensive treatments.
Not everyone is suitable for drinking vinegar, especially individuals with conditions such as excessive stomach acid or gastric ulcers, as vinegar consumption may worsen symptoms. Additionally, excessive vinegar consumption may lead to indigestion, acid reflux, and other gastrointestinal issues.
The treatment of hypertension should follow the guidance of a qualified physician and generally includes lifestyle modifications such as healthy eating, regular physical activity, reducing salt intake, and weight management. Antihypertensive medications may also be required when necessary.
