Common causes of neck pain:

1. Muscle or soft tissue injury: This is one of the most common causes, usually related to poor posture, prolonged maintenance of the same posture, excessive exercise, or trauma. Muscle tension or strain can lead to neck pain.

2. Cervical spondylosis: Prolonged use of mobile phones or computers, sleeping on a high pillow, and other factors can lead to degenerative changes in the cervical spine, which may subsequently cause cervical bone spurs or cervical disc herniation, compressing nerves, muscles, ligaments, and other tissues in the neck and causing pain.

3. Torticollis: Neck sprain, incorrect sleeping posture, or exposure of the neck to cold may also cause neck pain.

4. Neck trauma: Injuries such as car accidents, falls, or impacts can damage the muscles, bones, or nerves in the neck, resulting in pain.

5. Inflammatory diseases: Autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis can affect the cervical spine, leading to pain and stiffness.
