Common causes of hip pain in men:

1. Muscle or ligament strain: Overuse, sudden movements, or improper posture may injure the thigh muscles, buttock muscles, or ligaments connecting the bones.

2. Hip joint disorders: For example, hip synovitis, which may be caused by trauma, bacterial or viral infection, or joint dysfunction, presents with joint pain, swelling, and limited mobility.

3. Sciatica: Compression or inflammation of the sciatic nerve can cause pain from the lower back down the back of the thigh to the calf, and may sometimes be mistaken as hip pain.

4. Fracture or bone crack: High-impact injuries, such as falls or traffic accidents, may cause a hip fracture.

5. Iliopsoas syndrome: Tightness or inflammation of the iliopsoas muscle may compress the iliohypogastric nerve, causing pain in the hip area.

6. Prostatitis or benign prostatic hyperplasia: Although the main symptoms may be in the pelvic or perineal region, pain may sometimes radiate to the hip area.
