How to Prevent Myopia
Recently, my vision has become slightly blurry, and I feel like my eyesight is deteriorating. Nowadays, many people have myopia, and I'm really worried that I might develop it too. I'd like to know how to prevent myopia. Should I pay attention to my eye usage habits in daily life?

Myopia mainly manifests as unclear vision of distant objects, while nearby objects can still be seen clearly. Preventing myopia involves reducing risk factors for excessive elongation of the eyeball. The following suggestions may help prevent the onset of myopia:
1. Increase outdoor activities: It is recommended to spend at least two hours daily in outdoor daylight, as natural light helps promote the release of dopamine in the retina, thereby slowing the progression of myopia.
2. Use eyes properly: Maintain correct posture while reading and writing, and keep an appropriate distance between the eyes and books or screens. Take a 5-10 minute break every 45 minutes to an hour to look into the distance and relax the eye muscles.
3. Limit time spent using electronic devices: Video viewing time for school-age children should not exceed two hours daily, with one hour or less being preferable. When using electronic devices, take a 1-2 minute break every 30 minutes to reduce prolonged near visual strain on the eyes.
4. Maintain a balanced diet: Consuming foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as omega-3 fatty acids, such as carrots, dark green vegetables, and fish, can help protect eye health.
