Can probiotics be taken for enteritis?
I recently developed enteritis. May I ask if I can take probiotics?

Patients with enteritis can take probiotics.
Enteritis is a common digestive system disease, mainly characterized by inflammatory reactions of the intestinal mucosa. Common symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Probiotics are beneficial live microorganisms that positively influence various intestinal diseases by regulating the balance of the intestinal microecology, enhancing intestinal barrier function, and inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria. Probiotics are substances and microorganisms that help balance the intestinal flora. They help suppress the proliferation of harmful bacteria in the gut, promote the repair of the intestinal mucosa, and assist in regulating intestinal function.
Probiotics have shown certain adjuvant therapeutic effects on different types of enteritis. For example, in the early stages of acute enteritis, probiotics can help regulate the intestinal flora, reducing the attack of harmful bacteria on the intestinal mucosa, thus alleviating inflammation. For chronic enteritis, such as chronic colitis and irritable bowel syndrome, probiotics also help correct intestinal dysbiosis and improve enteritis symptoms.
It is recommended to supplement probiotics appropriately under a doctor's guidance. Probiotics can help restore the balance of intestinal flora, promote the recovery of intestinal function, reduce inflammatory responses, and alleviate symptoms such as diarrhea. However, not all types of enteritis are suitable for the use of probiotics; for example, patients with acute hemorrhagic enteritis or severely compromised immune systems should use them with caution.
