Patients with high uric acid levels can consume peanuts in moderation.

As a common type of nut, peanuts contain a certain amount of purines, which are metabolized into uric acid in the body. Therefore, patients with elevated uric acid levels should be cautious about peanut consumption. However, peanuts are considered a food with moderate purine content. Generally, eating a small amount of peanuts does not affect uric acid levels, but consuming large quantities may lead to an increase in uric acid. Additionally, peanuts are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, and B vitamins, which are beneficial for cardiovascular health.

Thus, patients with high uric acid levels can eat peanuts but should do so in moderation to avoid excessive intake that might elevate uric acid levels. It is recommended that individuals with hyperuricemia limit their peanut consumption to approximately 25 grams per day, following a low-purine diet principle. This includes reducing intake of high-purine foods such as meat and seafood, and increasing consumption of alkaline foods like vegetables and fruits to promote uric acid excretion and maintain stable uric acid levels.
