What should I do if my child has severe coughing and wheezing?
Disease description:
The child coughs severely at night while sleeping and experiences significant wheezing. What should be done?
If a child's cough and wheezing are severe and caused by a bacterial infection, antibiotics may be used under a doctor's guidance to control the infection. Commonly used medications include Cefixime颗粒 (Cefixime granules) and Amoxicillin颗粒 (Amoxicillin granules). However, Cefixime granules are only suitable for children over 6 months of age. If the condition is caused by a viral infection, antiviral medications such as Ribavirin颗粒 (Ribavirin granules) or Acyclovir颗粒 (Acyclovir granules) may be used.
