I have had tinnitus for many years, and a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner said it is due to excessive internal heat (internal fire), which has persisted over time.
I have been suffering from tinnitus for many years. According to a TCM diagnosis, my tinnitus is caused by excessive internal heat that has not been properly regulated over a long period of time.
Tinnitus is a common symptom characterized by the perception of persistent or intermittent ringing or noise in the ears, despite the absence of corresponding external sounds. Tinnitus may be caused by various factors, including inner ear damage, vascular diseases, medication side effects, and psychological factors. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) suggests that tinnitus is related to dysfunction of the liver and kidneys, deficiency of qi and blood, and excessive internal heat. Excessive internal heat may lead to imbalance between yin and yang in the body, thus affecting ear function and causing tinnitus. Long-term tinnitus not only affects hearing, but also has negative psychological impacts on patients, such as anxiety and depression.
In daily life, it is important to adjust lifestyle habits, maintain emotional stability, and avoid excessive fatigue and mental stress. Improving dietary habits by reducing intake of spicy, greasy foods that may increase internal heat, drinking more water, and consuming more fresh vegetables and fruits is also recommended. In addition, according to TCM principles, patients may use patent herbal medicines that have effects of clearing internal heat, reducing swelling and detoxification, and nourishing yin to relieve dryness. If tinnitus symptoms persist or worsen, prompt medical consultation is advised.
