Puerperal fever is a febrile condition that typically occurs during the postpartum confinement period. It is most commonly caused by infection of the birth canal or uterine cavity. Poor personal hygiene or resuming sexual intercourse too early after childbirth may trigger this condition. It is recommended to visit a reputable hospital for a complete blood count (CBC) and consult a physician regarding appropriate anti-infective medication. Additionally, antibacterial vaginal suppositories may be used as adjunctive therapy.
