Prolonged prothrombin time (PT) may be associated with deficiencies in coagulation factors and impaired coagulation function. In leukemia, increased destruction of coagulation factors can lead to clinical manifestations such as subcutaneous bleeding, hemarthrosis (bleeding into joint cavities), and epistaxis (nasal bleeding), all of which can adversely affect the body. Therefore, prompt medical evaluation at a hospital is essential. If bleeding is severe, hemostatic agents may be required for treatment, leading to clinical improvement. In cases of confirmed leukemia, chemotherapy is indicated.
