What causes chest pain upon waking up in the morning?
Chest pain upon waking in the morning may be caused by excessive fatigue, or it could result from conditions such as fasciitis or coronary heart disease.
1. Excessive Fatigue
If one stays up late or overexerts themselves the night before, chest pain may occur the next morning due to neuromuscular spasms. It is recommended to maintain healthy lifestyle habits, get adequate rest, and avoid staying up late, which can help alleviate symptoms.
2. Fasciitis
If the fascia in the chest area becomes inflamed, inflammatory metabolic products may irritate the fascia, causing localized pain. Appropriate heat application or massage may help promote the elimination of these metabolic byproducts and relieve symptoms. If necessary, medications such as diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets or indomethacin capsules may be used under a doctor's guidance.
3. Coronary Heart Disease
Also known as coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, this condition leads to myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, resulting in chest pain. Symptoms may be improved with medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets or clopidogrel hydrochloride tablets, used under medical supervision.
Besides the above causes, chest pain could also stem from other conditions such as lung tumors. Timely examination and treatment are advised.
