Introduction
Pregnancy usually refers to gestation. In general, ejaculation during menstruation rarely results in pregnancy. Most women have a menstrual cycle lasting 3 to 7 days. During this period, the endometrial lining has just shed, the ovaries are inactive, and no ovulation occurs, making the likelihood of pregnancy low. When semen is ejaculated into the female body during menstruation, because there is no egg present in the fallopian tubes and sperm typically survive for about 2 to 3 days, fertilization is unlikely.

Pregnancy generally refers to gestation. Ejaculation inside the vagina during menstruation usually does not lead to pregnancy. Most women have menstrual cycles lasting 3 to 7 days. During this time, the uterine lining has just shed and the ovaries are inactive, with no ovulation occurring, so the likelihood of pregnancy is low.

When semen enters a woman's body during menstruation, because there is no egg present in the fallopian tubes and sperm typically survive for about 2–3 days, fertilization cannot occur if the sperm do not meet an egg during their lifespan. Therefore, conception is unlikely. However, due to possible hormonal imbalances that may cause menstrual irregularities, there is a small chance that a woman might experience abnormal ovulation even during her period, meaning there remains a minimal possibility of ovulating and thus a potential for pregnancy.

Although ejaculation during menstruation generally does not result in pregnancy, engaging in sexual intercourse during this time may cause physical irritation or injury to the vaginal opening and increases the risk of reproductive system infections, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, and other conditions. Therefore, sexual activity should be avoided during menstruation whenever possible.
