What Are the Common Colors of the Nipple?
Disease description:
Previously, my nipples were pink, but recently I’ve noticed a change in their color to a darker red. What are the common nipple colors?
Nipples are generally classified into seven color categories: light pink, pink, light red, red, dark red, slightly blackish, and blackish-red. Nipple color typically changes with a woman’s age—progressing gradually from light pink to red during puberty and early adulthood. After breastfeeding, hormonal fluctuations often cause the nipple color to darken to deep red. In older age, nipple pigmentation may further intensify.
