In most cases, surgery for bromhidrosis (fox odor) does not result in recurrence; however, the likelihood of recurrence depends on the individual’s specific condition and the surgical technique employed. If the apocrine glands are completely removed or destroyed during surgery, recurrence is unlikely. Conversely, incomplete removal or failure to adequately destroy the sweat glands may lead to recurrence. Postoperative care is also critically important: avoiding spicy and irritating foods and maintaining good personal hygiene can effectively reduce the risk of recurrence.
