Bleeding after cervical examination is generally caused by physiological or pathological factors. Hysteroscopic examination may irritate the uterus, especially after contact with the endometrium, leading to physiological shedding of the functional layer of the endometrium and resulting in functional (physiological) bleeding. If procedures such as diagnostic curettage or endometrial polypectomy are performed during hysteroscopy, bleeding events may occur.
