Pain upon touching the nipple is generally considered related to hyperplasia and can be confirmed through breast ultrasound or mammography. Breast hyperplasia is mostly associated with elevated estrogen levels caused by endocrine disorders. When hormonal balance is disrupted—specifically, when estrogen levels rise and progesterone secretion decreases—it may lead to incomplete regression of breast tissue after proliferation, resulting in breast tissue hyperplasia.
