Why is there a lot of yellow phlegm in my throat, yet my throat feels very dry when there’s no phlegm?
Disease description:
My cold has not improved at all. Why is there a lot of yellow phlegm in my throat, and why does my throat feel very dry when there is no phlegm?
There is a large amount of yellow phlegm in the throat; when no phlegm is present, the throat feels very dry—this is primarily due to pulmonary inflammation. First, it is advisable to visit a hospital for imaging (e.g., chest X-ray or CT scan). Additionally, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, and mucolytic medications may be prescribed for treatment. In daily life, avoid smoking and alcohol consumption; minimize visits to crowded public places—especially during cold or flu season—and take care to stay warm and avoid drafts at home. Drink plenty of boiled water and wear a mask when going outdoors.
