Introduction
The "three highs" generally refer to the condition of having high blood pressure, high blood lipid, and high blood sugar, while bitter tea usually refers to Ilex latifolia (large-leaved holly). Ilex latifolia contains active ingredients such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and lupenol, which can help soften blood vessels, lower blood lipids, and improve metabolism. It may thus help improve conditions related to elevated blood pressure, blood lipids, and blood glucose. However, for severe cases of the three highs, using Ilex latifolia alone has limited effectiveness.

"Three highs" generally refers to the condition known as the three highs syndrome, while bitter tea usually refers to *Ilex latifolia* (large-leaf holly). *Ilex latifolia* is generally effective in reducing the three highs; however, if a patient's condition is severe, using *Ilex latifolia* alone may have limited effects.

*Ilex latifolia* contains active ingredients such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and lupanol, which can help soften blood vessels, lower blood lipids, and enhance metabolism. The "three highs" refer to hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia. Under medical guidance, drinking water infused or boiled with *Ilex latifolia* in appropriate amounts may improve vascular function, reduce levels of fats and sugar in the blood, purify the blood, accelerate blood circulation, and thereby help improve elevated blood pressure, blood lipids, and blood glucose.

If the three highs syndrome has become severe due to delayed treatment or improper management—for instance, when hypertension has progressed to stage 2 or hyperglycemia has developed into type 2 diabetes—using *Ilex latifolia* alone may offer only limited benefit. In such cases, timely treatment under a doctor's supervision with medications that regulate blood pressure and blood glucose is necessary.
