Generally, Lianhua Qingwen capsules should not be taken for headaches caused by heatstroke. These capsules are primarily used to treat respiratory tract infections such as influenza and other respiratory infectious diseases, and are not specifically indicated for heatstroke.

Heatstroke is usually caused by impaired body heat dissipation, leading to excessive heat accumulation in the body. Since Lianhua Qingwen capsules are not designed to treat heatstroke, although they may have fever-reducing effects, they are ineffective against headache and generally cannot relieve symptoms caused by heatstroke. In mild cases of heatstroke, symptoms may include flushed face, heavy sweating, rapid pulse, and axillary temperature below 38.5°C, which can be managed independently by drinking more light sugar-salt water and applying physical cooling methods. However, if axillary temperature exceeds 38.5°C and the patient shows signs of altered consciousness, immediate emergency medical care at the nearest hospital is required—this condition is considered a severe heat illness.

After heatstroke, patients may take medications such as Shidi Shui or Huoxiang Zhengqi Water under a doctor’s guidance, which can help strengthen the spleen, resolve dampness, and clear summer-heat. It is also important to adjust the environment promptly by ensuring good room ventilation and actively cooling the surrounding area.
